Security and Fraud

Today the risk of theft and fraud runs rampant through online channels. The safety and security of your information is a shared responsibility by you and the credit union. We will do everything we can to secure your information from abuse however; you too must protect your account numbers, cards, passwords and PIN from high tech fraudsters. We will never initiate a request for your account number, card number, password or PIN (personal identification number). If you call or write to us, then in the course of conversation we may request this information, but we will never call or email you for the information.

If you are unsure about an email you receive that appears to be from us, email us at once. There is no need to include any account information. Remember email is not a secure vehicle to send account information. You may call us any time during business hours at 620-241-9308.

Email Security

MCCU wants to make it very clear that under NO circumstances will we ever ask for confidential information through an email request.

In the event that you receive an email requesting updated debit and/or credit card information, please ignore the request. We will never email you for specific account information. If you receive an email from us that you suspect is fraudulent, contact us at once at 620-241-9308 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday or email us at

Debit and Credit Card Security

To enjoy the many conveniences electronic banking offers, you should make debit and credit card security a priority. Always keep your cards in a safe place and never share your PIN number, especially over the phone. Always review your account and report any transactions you believe may be unauthorized as soon as possible.

Our fraud monitoring departments may contact you by phone or text to verify a suspicious transaction. Please respond to them as soon as possible (no need to give them your account number or PIN)! If a transaction is suspect and they don’t get a response, they will block your card until verification has been made.

Lost/Stolen Card

  • If your debit card has been lost or stolen, call 1-833-933-1681 immediately.
